Bird house

The kids are always clamoring for Handy Dad (aka "Papa") to undertake projects with them. They know he can build stuff. They know he has all the tools and goodies and gadgets to make it happen. They also know they can get him to do just about anything for them if they're cute and they beg for long enough.

Enter exhibit A. The princess had to have a bird house to put outside of her cottage.

Papa cut all the boards for her according to her specifications and mostly put it together (there were a few screws that needed some "help" to tighten). He convinced her that the hole she requested down from the top floor to the bottom floor wouldn't be safe for the upstairs birds, so they settled on two front doors instead.

Here, Papa is giving it a coat of yellow paint with the last of the spray paint that was left over from painting the rockers.

And here's that red-headed kid coming in to lend a hand. Spray paint is a kid magnet.

I forgot to take a picture of the finished bird house because we high-tailed it out of the cottage in a blur at the end of a very short afternoon visit. I'll try to remember to take one for you the next time we're up.
